Pensacola Street Underground Utility Project
As part of its commitment to ensuring reliable service, the City of Tallahassee completed a utility improvement project along a portion of Pensacola Street. The project included replacing existing water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure. The project replaced approximately 2,250 linear feet of existing 6-inch diameter water main and associated valves, services, meters, fire hydrants and other appurtenances. The project also replaced approximately 2,100 linear feet of existing sewer mains, manholes and sewer services. Approximately 800 linear feet of storm drain were also replaced, along with the associated manholes and curb inlets.
After the utility construction was complete, the roadway was resurfaced, and the curbs, sidewalks and other surfaces disturbed by construction activities were restored.
The project limits, which are shown on the map, ran from Lorene Street to South Macomb Street. This project represents the significant investment by the City toward maintaining and improving our infrastructure system.
