Saint Francis Street Project
The City of Tallahassee's Underground Utilities and Public Infrastructure Department (UU&PI) intends to construct water and sewer improvements in the vicinity of Saint Francis Street/West Bloxham Street. The planned project will include a replacement of water and wastewater lines within the project limits and the addition of fire hydrants. Following the utility work, the affected roadways will be resurfaced. UU&PI's plans to solicit bids for this project in late 2016, with construction anticipated to start in spring 2017. Once started, the department anticipates nine months for project construction. The project's estimated cost is $1.2 million.
These utility improvements are part of UU&PI's program to proactively replace aging utility infrastructure and provide safe, reliable utility service to the customers for many years; and to improve fire protection in the area.
A public meeting has been scheduled on Thursday, November 3, 2016, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Amtrak Station Community Room, 918 Railroad Avenue. During the open house style meeting, City staff will be available to meet with you individually to discuss the project and to gather any information you would like to share with us. Drawings of the current design will be available for your review. No formal presentations will be made, so you can come and go at any time that works for your schedule.
