Tallahassee Celebrates Trifecta Win as All-America City

City Earns National Honor for Community Excellence

It’s official – Tallahassee has earned national recognition as a 2025 All-America City!

Presented by the National Civic League, this coveted award is presented annually to just 10 communities from across the country that exemplify inclusive civic engagement, outstanding innovation and meaningful collaboration to create a strong community. The honor was announced today, June 29, at the 2025 All-America City Conference in Denver.

Adding to its wins from 1999 and 2015, Tallahassee now joins an elite group of only a few cities nationwide – out of more than 19,500 – to receive this prestigious honor three times, reinforcing the continued collective efforts that make it a model for cities across the nation.

“Tallahassee has again earned national recognition, making history this time as a trifecta recipient of the prestigious All-America City Award,” Mayor John Dailey said. “To earn this national recognition for the third time is a direct result of strong leadership and a passionate, engaged community that works collaboratively to accomplish extraordinary results. I could not be prouder of what we have accomplished working together to ensure Tallahassee is a top city in the U.S.”

Tallahassee’s 2025 application focused on three standout initiatives that reflect the City's dedication to equity, sustainability and resident-driven change: the Southside Action Plan, a community-informed blueprint guiding infrastructure investments, housing initiatives and neighborhood improvements on the Southside; the Clean Energy Plan, an inclusive roadmap that sets the course for a 100 percent net clean renewable energy future through measurable action and community participation; and the City’s 100+ parks, which offer equitable access to parks and recreation, enhance quality of life and showcase environmental sustainability.

“The 2025 All-America City win for Tallahassee is a powerful testament to the City’s commitment to building a strong, inclusive future for all,” Mayor Pro-Tem Dianne Williams-Cox said. “We are Tallahassee Proud today and every day!”

The City’s application was supported by a diverse delegation of residents, students and city and community leaders, who traveled to Denver to share Tallahassee’s story on a national stage. Being named a 2025 All-America City reflects Tallahassee’s vibrant spirit, one rooted in collaboration and a shared vision for a more inclusive and sustainable future.

“Tallahassee is an amazing City, and we demonstrated that today,” Commissioner Jack Porter said. “Our All-America City delegation showed the National Civic League how Tallahassee residents’ innate values and active citizenship ensure a strong community.”

“It’s rare and remarkable that a community wins three All-America City titles, but Tallahassee always goes above and beyond,” Commissioner Curtis Richardson said. “I love Tallahassee, and I’m proud to be part of our community’s continued success.”

In addition to taking home its third All-America City title, Tallahassee won top honors in the 2025 All-America City social media award.
