Tallahassee Police Department Celebrates New Promotions

Today, Nov. 26, the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) celebrated the promotion of Lieutenant Damon Miller, and Sergeants Doug Kutchera and Matt Murphree. These exceptional individuals will hold key leadership roles within the agency, and their selection serves as a testament to their unwavering commitment and outstanding service.
Chief Lawrence Revell expressed his enthusiasm for the promotions, stating, "Today is a day of celebration, as we honor the hard work of our team members. Each promotion represents not just individual achievement, but the strength and growth of our entire agency. These individuals have shown exceptional leadership, and it's a privilege to see them advance in their careers. Lieutenants play a crucial role in influencing individuals to willingly work toward a common goal. They are entrusted with promoting team building and setting an example for others to follow. Sergeants are first-line supervisors. They bear the responsibility of remaining tactically and technically proficient while striving to know their teams closely. Additionally, they will be responsible for maintaining the training, discipline and morale of the department members under their watch.
